Overview
Organizations today are expected to be trusted custodians of personally identifiable information-- whether portions of such customer and other internal corporate information are being shared internally among corporate users, stored on databases or backup tapes, sent over the internet to partners or customers, or housed on well-used portable devices. Data is the most valuable asset that the majority of organizations have, so guarding it effectively is a top priority. Undertaking this effort is far from simplistic, however. Businesses and government entities alike must take into consideration where this crucial information resides and moves across the network and what pieces really need securing, for example. They also must determine the best technologies to deploy to protect this data and figure out just how and when end-users, partners and others should interact and access it. Risk management planning and related business polices have to be adapted and continuously updated, also, and compliance with federal and industry mandates must be accounted for when implementing related strategies. Formulating an effective line of attack that accounts for all these concerns and more is what this online event is all about.
