St. Bernard Software appoints CEO

San Diego-based web security appliances vendor St. Bernard Software has appointed Lou Ryan as CEO. The appointment follows the resignation of Vincent Rossi, CEO and acting CFO, who left the company to pursure other opportunities. Ryan will also retain his position as chairman of the board, a position he has held since June 2008.
SSH Communications Security Corp. executive expands role

Archer Technologies partners with Application Security

Archer Technologies, provider of governance, risk and compliance solutions, has partnered with Application Security, maker of database security products, to create an integrated offering. The Archer SmartSuite Framework and DbProtect integration will enable customers to manage risk while identifying and repairing database-level vulnerabilities.
GE Energy signs with Industrial Defender

GE Energy, a unit of General Electric, has signed an OEM agreement with SCADA and process control security company Industrial Defender. Under the deal, GE Energy will offer Industrial Defender's technology suite. The offering will be integrated with GE's smart grid automation technologies, such as energy management systems.
ITSCC names two to executive committee

The Information Technology Sector Coordinating Council, whose mission is to promote discourse on critical infrastructure protection, has named two new people to its executive committee. Tiffany Jones, director of government relations at Symantec, has been named treasurer and Franck Journoud, manager of information security policy at the Business Software Alliance, has been appointed a member. Robert Dix Jr. was re-elected to his second term as chairman.
PCI Security Standards Council appoints chairman

The PCI Security Standards Council, which manages the payment industry guidelines, has appointed Lib de Veyra as chairman. He replaces Rob Tourt, who led the council since Jan. 2008. De Veyra is vice president of emerging technologies at JCB International.
Three executives join GFI Software

Three executives have joined network security firm GFI Software. Sergio Galindo has been named VP of product marketing, Ed Harnish, VP of marketing and Ellan Murphy, VP of operations. Galindo joins from Lehman Brothers, while Harnish and Murphy come from Acronis, provider of data backup and disaster recovery offerings.
Palisade Systems appoints vice president of strategy

Palisade Systems, provider of data-loss prevention solutions, has appointed Christian Renaud to vice president of strategy. Prior to the move, Renaud was in charge of Cisco's New Markets and Technology Group, where he was chief architect of networked virtual environments. At Palisade, Renaud will work to increase brand awareness and grow revenues and customers.
GFi appoints three industry veterans

ESET signs on with InQuira

ESET, provider of anti-virus solutions, has signed on with InQuira, maker of software apps for web self-help and enterprise knowledge management. ESET will integrate InQuira's Multilingual Dictionary platform to bolster customer service for its users. The implementation comes as ESET is consolidating its international sites.
